Myths and Legends as part of Mexican daily life

It is said that Mexicans are “mitoteros” by nature and that they like legends. Be true or not these legends, the truth is that it is part of the collective and therefore the paranormal is the everyday.

One of these legends is that of Huasca de Ocampo, which is located in the heart of the Mountain Corridor, in the state of Hidalgo. This place has a museum dedicated to the elves. The museum exhibits photographs and a collection of horsehair that is attributed to the elves as being those who made them while the horses slept.

The whole environment in Huasca seems to be a place enchanted by its wooded landscapes, paths and beautiful blue lakes. It should be noted that as part of the belief of paranormal existence in this place, each guest is required to sign a letter in which the administration is not held responsible for the scares and jokes that these elves may make during the night. It is said that the elves are of good character and humor, but they get angry when they invade their place, contaminate it or if they are offended with words.

Paranormal experiences in Huasca de Ocampo

According to María de los Angeles, director of the museum on Huasca, one moonlight night in August 1994 a goblin appeared to explorers and told them that they do not make themselves present to the human being because they are usually attacked by them. Supposedly the elf questioned them about taking care of nature and he mentioned that he did not understand why people were envious, violent and full of evil.

There is a belief that for example, when the keys are lost and it seems to be something casual, it is really a trick of some pixie. It also mentions the fact that in the ranches horses have been found with the lectern (hair on the back) entangled as if they had been braided.

Conclusion

There are many stories and paranormal experiences related to these little beings.

It may actually be a paranormal experience or just a legend created to attract tourists. The truth is that to this day the belief of the existence of these mythological beings, magical and difficult to see by the human eye, is still maintained.

Mitos y Leyendas como parte de la cotidianidad mexicana

Se dice que los mexicanos son mitoteros por naturaleza y que le gustan las leyendas. Sean cierta o no estas leyendas, lo cierto es que es parte del colectivo y por tanto lo paranormal es lo cotidiano.

Una de estas leyendas es la ocurrida en Huasca de Ocampo, el cual está situado en el corazón del Corredor de la Montaña, en el estado de Hidalgo. Este lugar tiene un museo dedicado a los duendes. En el museo se exhiben fotografías y una colección de crines de caballo que se le atribuye a los duendes  como los que las hicieron mientras los caballos dormían.

Todo el ambiente en Huasca parece ser un lugar encantado por sus paisajes boscosos, veredas y hermosos lagos azules. Se debe señalar, que como parte de la creencia de la existencia paranormal en este lugar, se le requiere a cada huésped que firme una carta en la que no se responsabilice a la administración de los sustos y bromas que estos duendes puedan hacerle durante la noche. Se dice que los duendes son de buen carácter y humor, pero se enojan cuando invaden su lugar, lo contaminan o si los ofenden con palabras.

Experiencias paranormales en Huasca de Ocampo

Según cuenta María de los Angeles, directora de el Museo de los Duendes en Huasca, una noche de luna en agosto de 1994 un duende se le apareció a unos exploradores y les dijo que no se hacen presentes al ser humano porque normalmente son agredidos por éstos. Supuestamente el duende les cuestionó el que cuidaran la naturaleza y les mencionó que no entendía porque la gente era envidiosa, violenta y llenos de maldad.

Existe la creencia de que por ejemplo, cuando se pierden las llaves y aparenta ser algo casual, en realidad es una travesura de algún duende. Al igual se menciona el hecho de que en los ranchos se ha encontrado caballos con el atril (cabello en el lomo) enredado como si le hubieran hecho trenzas.

Conclusión

Existen cantidad de relatos y experiencias paranormales relacionados a estos pequeños seres.

Puede ser en realidad una experiencia paranormal o solamente una leyenda creada para atraer al turista. Lo cierto es que al día de hoy todavía se mantiene la creencia de la existencia de estos seres mitológicos, mágicos y difíciles de ver por el ojo humano.
